Blogs/Twitter/Facebook Used to Resist a Totalitarian State?
In a world full of media like the one we live in now it would not be hard to be able to resist a totalitarian state using the internet. On a website like Facebook where the number of users increases daily by thousands it would not be all that hard to start a group to see how many people would be willing to start a movement against Totalitarian States. Nations that are not controlled by Totalitarian governments would be able to use these websites to find people who also agree that Totalitarianism should be stopped. People that live IN countries controlled by Totalitarianism can use this media as a way to get their message out that they need help. Most of their life will most likely be controlled but writing on the internet can most likely not be stopped if using it at home. They would be able to send out awareness about the life they have to endure. By writing the things they have to live with on a public internet website anyone would be able to come across it and read it. That person could possibly want to help and could set up rallies and things to be able to fight it. Another major way that the media could be used to resist Totalitarianism is by finding other people online who feel the same way about it as you feel. By finding people who have the same common interests as you regarding this subject, you could be able to start a protest against the specific Totalitarian Leader that you have in mind. It is with small steps that you will be able to accomplish what you need. The media helps you to do this.

Totalitarian: Countries & Leaders, Modern & Historical
Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Benito Mussolini, Vladimir Lenin
Prior to what many people think Totalitarianism still happens in today’s world. It is a major problem in many countries around the world; a problem that nobody finds the interest to get involved in. Many leaders take advantage of their authority and hundreds of people are being killed a day because they don't meet the expectations and visions of these leaders. The media never covers any of these problems because the media is more interested in the lives of the celebrities. However, if we were able to see the problems that are surrounding these poor people in their countries we may feel more obligated to want to help them. They suffer at the hands of their leaders and we as a wealthy and strong nation do nothing. If we as a nation stood up to help these people there would be less death and suffering in our world.
Three modern day countries that are considered to be totalitarian are:
Four famous totalitarian leaders are:
Modern Day Police Services & Technology
It's a scary thought but the truth of the matter is that now a day's police use a lot of technology devices in order to catch criminals in the act or after the fact. A major example of this is Facebook. The police are using it to locate criminals and even missing people. Even people who have to go to court or are trying to lie about something will sometimes have their Facebook page thrown at them when they least expect it. In some cases posts on a person's Facebook or Myspace page can be used to present the person's real attitudes and help to determine if the defendant has been honest during the trial and/or to determine an appropriate sentence for the person. The police use these websites as a source of evidence against people. If you are lying about something to the police and they go on your page and it shows a contradiction to what you have said you will get BOOKED. Many people don't realize that what you publish on the internet (doesn't matter if your profile is set to private; there's always a way around it) people will be able to access it and to, in some cases, use it against you, like the police very often do. It has even become apparent that police are using Facebook and Myspace as a means to find underage drinkers online. Many people tend to put pictures of themselves drinking alcohol or smoking marijuana on their page but what they don't realize is that this can be used against them "in a court of law". Other technological devices that the police have been known to use are cell phones and GPS's. What many people don't realize is that most new cellular devices have GPS and that if a police officer needs to look for you they do have the means to access this GPS system and locate you.
Technology has been a great invention for man, but it has also caused many problems in the sense that nothing is private anymore. Monday, March 8, 2010
What are FIVE common parts of a typical Totalitarian State?
A government that subordinates the individual to the state and strictly controls all aspects of life by coercive measures. This is the official definition given for Totalitarian State. So what exactly does this mean? What exactly is a Totalitarian State and what exactly does it do?
There are many parts to a Totalitarian State but five major parts are:
• The state is normal under the control of a single politician or a political government.• The "Big Boss" has no limits when setting its laws and tries to control every aspect of a person’s public and personal life.
• We, as citizens, of the state have no vote or right to vote in the decision making regarding the place in which we live.
• Any resistance by a citizen against the law's can result in torture or even death.
• Many Totalitarian Leaders have a distinct vision of their people and if other people do not fit this vision they are "terminated". An example of this was during the Holocaust, when Hitler had most of Europe's Jewish people in Concentration Camps and murdered. In the end, over six million lives' were taken simply because Hitler did not like Jews.
